Kondagattu temple is one of the famous temples of Karimnagar District.Sri Anjaneya Swamy is the Presiding deity at this temple. It is located in the hillock of Kondagattu villages of Mallial mandal .It is located at 35 Kms from Karimnagar town. The temple is surrounded by caves and Rayuni fort, bojja potana on its north. According to local about 300 years ago a cattle graze Singam sanjeevudu after losing one of his buffalo, came to this hillock searching for it and slept there as he was tired. Lord Anjaneya Swamy came in to his dream and told him the address of the buffaloes he was looking far.Sanjeeva got up suddenly and when he looked around the hillock, to his shock, he found an illuminating idol of Anjaneya .He then built a small temple for Lord Anjaneya.The same temple is now renowned as Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple across the entire Telangana region.

About 160 years ago a person by name Krishna rao Deshmukh renovated the temple and endowed some land to it. The temple besides the main deity of Anjaneya Swamy also has the idols of Lord Venkateswara, Goddess Alwaarula and Sri Laxmi.

The devotees believe that people who do not have children can have children by offering 40 day prayers to anjaneya Swamy here. The temple became into a trust after coming in to custody of state endowment department in 1968.

The temple has 45 Dharmashalasfor conveniences of devotees. it has bus facility from Karimnagar, jagtial and other important towns of karimnagar district.
